Using LinkedIn Hashtags to Grow Your Client Base

LinkedIn introduced hashtags in 2018. While you might be familiar with Twitter and Instagram hashtags, there are some differences in how they are used on the LinkedIn platform. However, they are a combination of numbers, letters, or emoji’s that must always begin with #symbol. Hashtags make your content to be accessible and discoverable by many users. They also assist you to connect with people whom you share a common interest. This article will guide you on how you can use the platform to grow your client base.

How to Use Hashtags

There are two ways that you can use hashtags. The first is finding and searching for the most relevant hashtags that you can follow so that you can join a conversation that you like. The second is adding the applicable hashtags for your content. That makes it easy for users on the platform can discover you and your content as well.

Adding Hashtags on Your Posts

At the very top of the LinkedIn homepage, you will find a filed/web-form to post your content. Click the link that displays “Share an article, photo, video, or idea.” You should use them within the body of the post you are creating and, most importantly, at the end of your article or message.
